How to Use and Buy the Miura Peninsula 1-Day Ticket Jogashima, Misaki, Tuna, Hayama, and Zushi Marina [Girls’ Day Trip]

Hello. I’m ”Arafifi Mitsu”(Around 50 Mitsu)!

This time, I took a day trip to the Miura Peninsula with a friend using the Miura Peninsula 1-DAY Ticket.

The Miura Peninsula 1-DAY Ticket, sold by Keikyu Corporation, is a convenient and great value all-day pass.
Its greatest appeal is that it allows unlimited rides on not only trains but also buses (within designated free areas).
It also comes with discount tickets for facilities along the line, so you can enjoy sightseeing and gourmet food at a great value.

This time, I used the Miura Peninsula 1-DAY Ticket to enjoy a day trip to the fullest.
Itinerary: Shinagawa → Jogashima → Morito Shrine (Hayama) → Hayama Marina → Zushi Marina → Return trip

How do I use and purchase the Miura Peninsula 1-DAY Ticket? What are the free travel areas?

The Miura Peninsula 1-DAY Ticket is a great value ticket sold by Keikyu Corporation.

It can be purchased at every station on the Keikyu Line (excluding Sengakuji). Of course, it can also be purchased at every station within the Miura Peninsula.
Ticket prices vary depending on your departure station.
You can purchase it from the “Great Value Ticket” section of the automatic ticket vending machines at your departure station.

Miura Peninsula 1-Day and 2-Day Ticket Price List

The Miura Peninsula 1-Day Ticket not only covers round trips from the departure station, but also the area south of Kanazawa-Bunko Station, allowing unlimited travel on trains and Keikyu buses.

Free area: Miura Peninsula area (check the Keikyu official website for details)

The ticket is the same as a regular ticket and can be used at the automatic ticket gates.

However, in the free train zones, your ticket is returned when you exit the gate (you can go through the gate multiple times), so be careful not to forget to take your ticket.

Keikyu buses are postpaid, so just show your free ticket to the driver when you get off the bus. (I was able to board the bus whether I bought a multi-ride ticket or not.)

This time, I purchased a Miura Peninsula 1-Day Ticket (¥2,140) from Shinagawa, which saved me ¥1,970 compared to the actual transportation costs!

Sightseeing at Jogashima – How to get to Jogashima?

First, head to Jogashima using the Miura Peninsula 1-Day Ticket.

To get to Jogashima, take the Keikyu Line from Shinagawa to the last stop, Misakiguchi Station. The express train from Shinagawa to Misakiguchi takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes without transfers.

Even though it’s an express train, you don’t need a limited express ticket.

Keikyu trains don’t generally have reserved seats. If you absolutely need a seat, there is a train called the “Wing” that offers reserved seats. (Please check the Keikyu website.)

To get to Jogashima, take the bus bound for Jogashima from the bus terminal at Misakiguchi Station, the last stop, and get off at the last stop, Jogashima. The ride takes approximately 30 minutes. The road gets crowded on weekends, so be sure to plan ahead.

One of Jogashima’s most popular attractions is the Jogashima Lighthouse. After getting off the bus, walk along the souvenir shop street and you will arrive in about 5 minutes.

Jogashima Lighthouse was the fifth lighthouse built in Japan. It was designed in 1870 by the French engineer Verny.
Designer Verny also built the Yokosuka Ironworks in Yokosuka City, next to Miura City, where Jogashima is located. Yokosuka is home to Verny Park, which is also accessible by Miura Peninsula 1-Day Ticket, and is a highly recommended spot with great views.

Speaking of sightseeing in Jogashima, one of the highlights is the Umanose Cave Gate, which was created by sea erosion on the naturally rich Jogashima island.

Unfortunately, it was raining, so the ground was slippery and I couldn’t get very close. I’d like to come back on a nicer day.

Sushi and Tuna Bowl at Misaki Port: The Long-Established Sushi Restaurant “Kinodai”

From Jogashima, I took another bus toward Misaki Port. After about a 15-minute bus ride, I got off at the “Hinode” bus stop.

This time, I had lunch at “Kinodai,” a long-established sushi restaurant in Misaki Port that a friend from Misaki recommended to me since high school.

I ordered the “Omakase Sushi” (2,900 yen), and my friend ordered the “Four Kinds of Tuna Bowl” (1,920 yen).

The omakase sushi included a variety of tuna cuts.

Both dishes were generously portioned and completely filling.

Misaki Port also has a large souvenir shop that offers delivery, making it a great place to buy tuna.

Hayama’s Morito Shrine is said to bring good fortune in matchmaking and romantic fulfillment.

Next, we headed to Morito Shrine in Hayama.

From Misaki Port to Hayama, you can take three buses using the Miura Peninsula 1-Day Ticket.

Morito Shrine in Hayama is a historic shrine founded in the Kamakura period.

It has long been said that Morito Shrine’s blessing is fertility, due to the presence of Suitengu Shrine, but recently it seems that many young women come to pray for matchmaking and success in love.

On a clear day, you can see Enoshima and Mount Fuji from the Morito Shrine grounds… But unfortunately, on this visit we could only get a faint glimpse of Enoshima.

Morito Shrine also has a monument to Ishihara Yujiro, a huge star of the Showa era.

Ishihara spent his youth in Shonan and is said to have loved Hayama.

Relax at the Ron Herman Cafe at Riviera Zushi Marina.

Using a Miura Peninsula 1-Day Ticket, I took a bus from Morito Beach to Zushi. Then, I transferred to another bus and headed to Riviera Zushi Marina.

When the weather is good, Riviera Zushi Marina looks even more like an overseas resort. It’s a shame.

I stopped by the Ron Herman Cafe at Riviera Zushi Marina.

The Ron Herman Cafe is stylish right from the entrance.

I returned to Keikyu Zushi-Hayama Station by bus. From there, I returned to Shinagawa, the departure station for the Miura Peninsula 1-DAY Ticket.
At the end of my trip, I bought some souvenirs at MISAKI Donuts near the station.
